Privacy policy

This policy explains what PracticeExam.net collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your personal information and we don't show ads.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), whether you're a student, working or unemployed, and the school or company you entered. If you add a student email to get the student discount, we keep that too.
• Exam activity: the exams you start, your answers, flags, highlights, time per question, scores, and any feedback or problem reports you send.
• Purchases: what you bought, the price, any code used and the payment status. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never receive them.
• Gifts: the recipient's name and email and your message, so we can deliver the gift.
• Technical data: your IP address (to stop abuse such as repeated sign-in attempts), and while a page is open, which page you're on and your browser type. That page activity is deleted after 24 hours.
• Messages: what you send through the contact form.

How we use it

• To run your account, give you the exams you bought, and show your results and progress.
• To send emails you need: verification links, password resets and gift deliveries.
• To answer your messages and fix the questions you report.
• To keep the site secure and improve the exams, using combined, anonymous statistics.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run parts of the site for us, and only what each one needs:

• Stripe — payments.
• Resend — sending email.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — the "I'm human" check on sign-up and the contact form.
• Our hosting provider — where the site and its database run.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and a small cookie that tells repeat visits apart so we can see how many people are on the site. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and exam history while your account exists. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. If your account is deleted, your exam history, feedback and referral codes go with it; purchase records stay, without your account.

Your choices

• You can change your name and password on your account page.
• To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, contact us from the email on your account.

Children

The site is meant for adults preparing for an engineering exam and isn't aimed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
